Active (Tour Manager) Membership

Active membership of the International Association of Tour Managers is open to you if you are a Tour Manager with at least one year's experience 'on the road'. (Don't despair if you have less than one year's experience! You can apply to become an Affiliate of your local region of IATM).

One year's experience qualifies you for Silver Badge membership; five years experience qualifies you for Gold Badge membership.

As soon as we receive your application form we apply to the Tour Operator for whom you have most recently worked to obtain a reference.

A copy of your application is then sent to the local IATM Regional Office and arrangements are made for you to attend an informal interview with members of the Regional Committee.

Once a favourable reference has been received and you have been approved by the Regional Committee, an invoice will be sent for payment. Alternatively, you may wish to return the Credit Card mandate with your application so that we can take payment as soon as your application is approved.

The current joining fee for Active Membership is £ 110.

After the first year, annual payments are made to your local Regional Office, which fixes the annual fee.

Individual Associate Membership

If you are a Tour Guide, or a part-time Tour Manager, or even if you have some other connection with tourism and wish to belong to the Association, then you may apply to become an Individual Associate member.

Approval of Individual Associate applications is made by the Regional Committee of your local IATM Regional Office.

Once approved, you will be invoiced for the annual fee of £ 68. Individual Associates pay their fees annually to the Central Office of the Association.

Allied and Associate Membership

Allied Membership: This category is for Shops, Restaurants, Entertainments, etc., supplying goods or services to group package tour clients.

Associate Membership: This category caters for Tour Operators, Travel Agencies, Hotels, Transport providers, Tour Guide Associations, etc.

Application forms for both Allied and Associate membership are received by the IATM Central Office and approved by members of the Board of Directors. During the touring season this may mean a delay in approval, but please rest assured that all applications are processed as speedily as possible.

The current annual fee for Allied membership is 460 Euros, paid annually to the IATM Central Office.

The current annual fee for Associate membership is 230 Euros, paid annually to the IATM Central Office.

Allied and Associate members are provided with an annual certificate of membership for display at their premises.

Affiliates

The Affiliate scheme allows those wishing to make Tour Managing their career to have close contact with the local region of the Association, to receive regular mailings from the local regional office (though not the annual IATM Handbook), and to attend Study Tours and Conventions at the same rate as Active members.

Affiliates pay half the current local Active members' fee. For further details, apply to your local IATM Regional Office.
